CHALLENGE 11

Speed photography(DSLR)

~Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still – Dorothea Lange ~

Speed photography can be defined as the ability to manipulate the exposure of a photograph so that all movement is frozen and things can be seen that could not be seen with the eye alone. The art of speed photography can have a dramatic impact on the appearance and the quality of photographs especially when moving objects are involved.

The most important setting in speed photography is the shutter speed. Mainly it is responsible for creating the dramatic effects either freezing action or blurring motion. Photography done with a fast shutter speed (high-speed photography) can cause a moving subject to appear unnaturally frozen. When the lower shutter speed is selected (low-speed photography) it suggests the movement of an object in a still photograph.  More time is available for movement in the subject to be captured by the camera as a blur.

Own your pace and vision and submit your best captures…

Tick tock! Tick tock! What is ticking away is not the clock! What is ticking away is your opportunity to unleash the inner artist within yourself. Hurry up! Seize the moment! Because some opportunities never come twice.
